In our culture, it’s always a fascination to see the various species of birds on our small island. The parrot, however, is a widely known species of bird known throughout the world. I am inspired by them because of their ability to repeat what they have heard. Strangely I met this one who could speak but refused to say anything hence the title of this artwork “Silent Speaker”. To be honest I was a little disappointed and fascinated by the lad its beauty was very captivating the way how the sunset illuminated his feathers, so I couldn’t help myself from capturing the moment with a quick sketch and then transferring it to acrylic on canvas.

On our small Caribbean islands, the parrot is a globally recognized bird.
